Two names. Two ways to keep you awake.

Karan M'Nair writes horror.
E.L. Chase writes thrillers.

The names are different. The trouble isn't.

Some stories scare you.

Others make you look over your shoulder.

And then there are stories that put a gun in your hand, a secret in your pocket and a dead body at your feet — and ask what you're going to do about it.

That's where I write.

As Karan M'Nair, I take you into the dark. Not the comfortable dark. The other kind. The kind behind the locked door. The thing standing at the end of the corridor. The voice that shouldn't be calling your name.

As E.L. Chase, I write about people who make bad decisions for good reasons — and discover too late that good reasons don't keep you alive.

Crooks. Cops. Liars. Killers. Women who know exactly what they want. Men who should know better.

They meet. Somebody lies. Somebody dies.

And the story begins.

The Horror

Karan M'Nair

Fear doesn't need to shout. Sometimes it whispers. Sometimes it waits. Sometimes it has been standing in the room all along.

My horror stories are built around the things we don't understand — and the things we desperately wish we did.

Ancient evil. Dark places. Broken minds. Unwelcome visitors.

And the oldest question of all: what if the thing you fear is real?

The Thrillers

E.L. Chase

Everybody has a price. Everybody has a secret. And everybody makes a mistake.

The trouble starts when those three things meet. E.L. Chase is where I write hard, fast crime fiction — stories of greed, betrayal, lust, violence, crooked deals and people who discover that running from trouble is usually the fastest way to find it.

There are no perfect heroes here. No clean villains. Just people. And people can be dangerous.

About the author

One writer. Two names.

I write under two names because some stories need darkness — and others need a loaded gun.

Karan M'Nair is my name for horror. E.L. Chase is my name for thrillers.

Different worlds. Different rules. Same obsession:

Tell the story. Cut the fat. Keep the reader turning the page.

Because a book should do more than occupy your time. It should steal it.

Read at your own risk.

The monsters aren't always supernatural. The killers aren't always obvious. And the man telling you the truth may be the one you should fear most.

Come in. The door is already open.
