The Pishachini's Groom

Abram is a young journalist sent to Banaras to investigate something horrifying: graves disturbed, corpses dug up, half-eaten, left in impossible positions. Some are missing tongues. Some bear claw marks. The police blame animals. The locals whisper of curses and angry gods. Abram sees vermillion marks on the dead that no animal could leave.

At the burning ghats, workers speak in hushed warnings of veiled women who dance around half-burned corpses at night. Abram finds an old manuscript describing the Shav-Bhojini — the Corpse-Feast cult — women who serve a flesh-eating goddess, the Pishachini, offering men in rituals that blend devotion, fear, and death.

His curiosity becomes obsession. And the pyres, he realizes, are only part of the story. The real horror is still waiting for him.
